Introduction to German Genealogy In-Person
Dan Fantore’s Introduction to German Genealogical Research explores German immigration to the United States. Research with US resources comes first to identify the German nation or town of origin. German ports and immigration from German will be presented. The role of civil and church records will be discussed as well as how to read German church records. The important role of gazetteers and maps will be explored. Sources helpful for German researchers will be reviewed.
