Gentle Yoga Basics

Yoga can be accessible, gentle, and for every BODY. In this class, we will focus on gentle/basics, practice mindful breathing techniques, use the support of a chair to move into both seated and standing yoga poses, and movements that would benefit people who sit frequently.

These shapes will access the benefits of a traditional yoga class (such as strength building and improved flexibility) in a low-impact way that reduces strain on major joints. The emphasis will be on promoting strength and stability through slow, intentional movement and held postures. A variety of modifications will be offered to ensure that all students feel both challenged and supported. This class is ideal for those interested in starting a home yoga practice and looking for tools.

Please wear comfortable clothing for this class, and if possible, plan to practice either barefoot or in socks.

Rebecca Storzbach first arrived on her mat nearly 15 years ago and eventually transitioned from classroom teacher to registered yoga teacher. She leads groups of all ages, from preschoolers to seniors, and is passionate about spreading the joy of regular yoga practice.

This is a virtual event, and REGISTRATION is required. A valid email address is also required; a special Zoom link will be emailed to registrants the day of the program.
